This description feature works well for scoring parameters and other non-obvious fields that might confuse new team members.
If you're using a formula field with a calculation, the description helps explain how the value is calculated.
Another useful application is explaining important fields that are new to the setup.
When a field is newly created and marked as important or required, the description helps the team understand its purpose and how to complete it correctly.
